Young Guns: Dead or Alive

Fog rolled over The Stage like dust through an old west ghost town. YHC looked across the way, eyes low, 4 Zyn pouches tucked in YHC’s lip, wondering if PAX were ready for the journey ahead. Just then, a Rouse’s bag flew by like tumbleweed. 14 PAX assembled for a cattle drive that would take them around rich man’s loop and into F3 history.

Growing up, YHC loved western movies. Young Guns was one of the best. The story of Billy the Kid, with Hollywood flair, of course. Last week, the news broke that over 30 years after the original, the franchise would be resurrected for Young Guns 3. So that got YHC thinking, YHC can’t remember a cowboy-themed beatdown. In fact, there hasn’t been a country song in the mix in a while either. So, it’s time to slip on a cowboy hat, pull on your Luchessi boots, and saddle up! Let’s hit the trail.

Thang 1

YHC had a plan that included playing a modified game of Faro to determine what exercises would be used for each song. However, the Deck of Death was a world away on a mysterious Journey of its own. So YHC pivoted and pre-planned a workout for each song along with some Billy the Kid trivia. Here’s how it went down:

Abilene:
Mosey to the first corner of rich man’s loop. Our first stop on this drive. By this point Pax were riding high in the saddle.

Question 1:
Which of the following was not an alias of Billy the Kid?
William H. Bonnie
William McCarty
William Owens MD
Kid Antram
The Pax answered correctly, earning a ride on steel horses in the form of Easy Riders (Al Gores with arms at a roughly 75-degree angle) during the verse, and jump squats during the chorus of Dead or Alive by Bon Jovi

Witchita:
Mosey to the next corner of the Rich Man’s loop. The herd was still strong, no stragglers, no head lost.

Question 2:
What was Billy the Kid’s Posse called?
Wild Bunch
Regulators
Advance Eye Cowboys
Scott’s tots
Honestly, it took much longer than YHC expected for the PAX to get this one right. So the PAX earned LBCs on the verse and WW1 sit-ups on the chorus of the western classic “Get Along Little Dogies”.

Chicago:
Mosey to the third corner of Rich Man’s Loop.Where we offloaded our cattle and got paid. With all that extra money, PAX did what any good cowboy would do, and fed our addictions.

Question3:
The Lincoln County wars took place in what state?

After Pax answered correctly, Copenhagen played while pax planked up, and dipped into a Merkin when ever the the Rodeo Romeo that is Chris LeDoux said “Copenhagen”.

Our hankerins for tabacee sated, PAX headed back to the Flags of New Mexico.

New Mexico:

Question 4:
Which of the following cowboys was NOT a Regulator?
Charlie Bowdrie
Doc Scurlock
William Owens MD
Frank Coe

PAX moseyed back where we started. Everyone knows that after a long cattle drive, cowboys come back a bit hot-blooded. So these cowboys needed to work off that tension. So Pax performed Freddie Mercs on the Chorus, and a Rosalita every time the word “Fever” was uttered. Once again, our Bronc riding Bard was Chris LeDoux.

Thang 2:

No country music playlist would be complete without “Ring of Fire” so back at the stage PAX performed a Dora Style Ring of Fire.

Circuit 1
Pax 1: Perform 250 Coupon Chest Presses
Pax 2: Traverse the stage track performing 10 squats at corner 1 and 10 merkins at corner two then return to the start. Pax switch positions.
Circuit 2:
Pax 1: Perform 150 coupon curls
Pax 2: Traverse the stage track performing 10 Bonnie blairs at corner 1 and 10 gas pumpers at corner 2.

Before completing the Ring of Fire, time ran out. Pax circled up, counted off, and named our new FNG ANA! Safety Valve prayed us out.
