PAX: Pipe Layer, Honeysuckle, Popeye, Montana, America’s Best

A last-minute substitute Q was needed for Goose, so YHC decided to step in without any plan.
A quick Google search revealed that today is National IPA Day. Serendipity.
And so instead of being stuck on Goose Island, we’d have a beatdown with a higher ABV (Americas Best Volume).
Cross-referencing the Exicon for India Pale Ale only yielded variations of an Indian Run. So whatever we would do, we would have to do together.
And to justify the beatdown all being done as a cohesive PAX, YHC would spout some nonsense about drinking IPAs together instead of alone.
Standard-issue warmarama followed by
The first Thang:
No-Surrender Indian Plank Ale
The entire PAX holds the full plank position while one man does 10 No Surrenders. Deducted one for each hop variety or IPA style the PAX could name. Pipe Layer and Popeye threw out some good answers, reducing the total to 5.
During this, the PAX was treated to the cool 80s stylings of one of the Coreys on “Never Surrender” followed by “Surrender” by Cheap Trick.
The Second Thang:
India(n Pale Ale) Run 11s
Imperial Hop Burp varietal
Imperial Squat Walkers at the first sidewalk,
Then Indian Run to the far sidewalk for Side Straddle Hop Burpees.
And if you’re thinking “the distance between those two sidewalks isn’t long enough for an Indian Run,” to that I say:
It is if you run the long way.
It was an Indian run around the civic center to the other sidewalk. Tana, still bitter (easily 90 IBUs) that this was not the Half-Baked beatdown he showed up for, eventually fell into line.
The Exicon says this run should be “400-500 yards.” While we couldn’t pin down if our distance was sufficient , we were able to ballpark it as somewhat longer than a pickleball court, but shorter than a golf course.
The poi became too runny, so YHC modified and threw in an Indian plank bear-crawl between the sidewalks for one round. And the run was warmly welcomed back after that.
The PAX finished about half of the 11s, while running a total of about 2.5 miles.
COT and Honeysuckle prayed us out (because he was the only one not out of breath)
Well done men. Always an honor to lead.
SYITG,
