But one obscure 90s sound continued to rock…

This is the story of RoxDoxHoney

Welcome to VHF3 Behind the Beatdown

In the early dawn of 2026 an unlikely trio of running talents would come together to change the history of the Civic center Resevoir music scene. Small audience you say? If you have ever had to listen to AB 90s concert nostalgia then you already know the answer: “You just had to be there mannnn”

These 3 pax found each other in a parking lot and instant harmony with their debut single: “3 coups is enough”. Some creative differences were apparent when HS wanted to try a new melody for “What if Maneater Shows” but they felt the powerful rhythm of the power ballad “It’s Really Just Us”.

They were varied in band history but all at vulnerable times in their careers. Roxbury had come from a garage band in Lafayette but the lead vocalist only ran 5ks and he wanted to jam with ultras. Honeysuckle had lost his lead guitarist from Rad Rienzi to the new Seattle movement , some guy named Kurt, but nevermind, not central to our story. YHC had just been through a nasty split with his first band Leviticus after the lead guitarist passed on the Tarzan soundtrack rights for moral issues with Disney…no big…I’m sure some no namer will scoop that up. Not sure why…just feel it in the air.

But this destined gloom meeting led to their quadruple platinum album “What if we just Run ” and they skyrocketed to superstardom with the scathing metal hit “7brew is lame”. This was plenty success to get a record deal and they obviously fell into an instant sophomore album slump with “same ole warm ups” then shortly after they careened into hard drugs.

The band then reached a crucial point. Tail spinning into nonprofit and subcommittee addiction and covering weddings with recycled YJ monologues as songs…They hit rock bottom.

YHC gathered them at the foot of the German wart duck gangplank studio. (Or was it Sussudio, we may never know.)

One last shot

They needed to find their sound again.

Back to their root talents.

Time to Run:

This was their masterpiece album:

Let’s have a listen…

Dust to Dust

Track 1
“Dust We Came”
Lay on ground 30 seconds
Hold 6 in 60 seconds

Track 2
“We felt like Running”
10 reps, merkin, curl, ohp
800 m run

Track 3
“My kids ask why I drink”
20 reps
800 m run

Track 4
“Dox must be the only person to have ever moved in the history of houses”
30 reps
800 m run

Track 5
“Kayak beatdown planning”
20 reps
Running distance got hazy as Garmin started jealously glitching …. “Tommy why are you running with friends, I AM your only friend”

Track 6
“Return to Dust”
10 reps
Lay on ground

The album would go certified quintuple platinum and be the basis of measure for all precious metal based ford trucks for years to come.

They raised intentions and HS prayed them out.

They faded into the gloom. Legs wobbly but hearts full.

Ya just had to be there man.
