48.
2 cases of beer.
3 pints.
4 dozen.
3 pounds.
The number of states until AL and HI were admitted in 1959.
Gemini says that the number 48 “symbolizes stability, abundance, personal growth, and spiritual guidance, combining the energies of numbers 4 and 8 to encourage balance, success, and inner wisdom.” Just like Yankee Joe.
And today I turned it.
AB graciously allowed me to take his Q today to share my special day and Yeti buckets of tickets and seek that personal growth we all aspire for. We tried.
Waramarama:
SSH, WM, High Knees & Butt Kicks, some stretches, Tai Fighters, Cherry Pickers. Then some more with tix. Safety Valve standard delayed entry.
Thang:
4 rounds.
48 reps each of:
Tix side/front raises
WW2.5
Tix merkin
Tix toe-hip-sky
Tix penguin 1=1
Tix chest fly
Figure 8 mosey in the Settlement.
Music: Inspired by last weekend’s Acadia Music Fest, a selection of Better Than Ezra with some special artists whose birthday is today. One was born in 1950, the other in 1971. PAX had to guess which of the artists were celebrating.
Immediately setting into the first 48 side/front raises, I realized just how many 48 is while moving 5lb bricks at the ends of one’s arms. Had to stick to it while my mind entered Q audible mode trying to save face. And time.
Aha…. Benjamin Button. The little guy who dials back time and gets younger while he gets older. Without all the kinda creepy special effects and awkward passage back through puberty while living in a house full of old people and servants you sort of own.
Round 2: dropped to 24 reps per, and kept turning back time and reducing life expectancy by NUR’ing backwards on the half figure-8.
Round 3: dropped to 12 reps per, but stepped up the pace for another figure 8. I hope I keep getting younger and can run like Roxbury 9 or 10 years from now. Maybe less beers and cookies. Probably not.
Round 4: dropped to 6 reps per, and thanks to father time had to NUR the small loop around the lawn. We finished as the Cane Mill horn beckoned the sugar men to the mines.
Rosemary Beach shreds of t-shirt went home with Roxbury, Suckle prayed us out.
No surprise, PAX got these right so no burpees:
1950 – Tom Petty (RIP)
1971 – Snoop Dogg
Grateful for this brotherhood, for another sunrise, and the strength to improve.
In the words of the OG Snoop: “You got a lot to be smiling fo…. so what the fuk you be wildin’ fo? If you breathin, you achievin.”
Keep livin your best life.
