PAX: Fence Post, Maneater, Jackknife, AB
AO: The Lion’s Den, 4/24/25
By: America’s Best
YHC had a beatdown planned for a big group. Luckily it also worked for a two and half men.
Warmarama: SSH, windmills, Imperial Walkers, shoulder circuit (Tie Fighters, Cherry Pickers, Lafayette Night Clubs, Self Love), Willie Mays Hayes.
As we moseyed over to the Aldi parking lot, Maneater grinned and said, “well with this small group, at least you can be sure nobody will complain anything was too easy.”
YHC quickly erased his smile. “I don’t think anyone would have said that anyway.”
First thing:
7s: Groiners on one end. Rocky Balboas on the other. Pretty easy… but MOT is Cocaine Bear.
Next Thing: Anchorman
The rules: a category and exercise are announced (ie World History, 10 burpees).
As we run to the designated answer area, the PAX choose 1 man to be the anchorman, based on assumed categorical knowledge, and can bet up to 10 burpees that he will get the question correct.
For our small group, YHC ended up giving all chance to answer, and also offered a clue to the Anchorman in exchange for 3 burpees from the PAX.
All questions this day were Italy related. Although many were not answered correctly, Maneater nailed the Audio Daily Double by identifying Pompeii by Bastille in about 3 notes. (After first saying, “oh no… you listen to some weird stuff.”)
Jackknife was anchorman for 2 movie categories, and although Spaghetti Westerns were before his time, he answered Luca correctly.
Fencepost flexed his knowledge of Thibodaux History, knowing that Gina’s At the Legion was previously The Venetian.
Many other questions were missed, so we did lots of Apollo Oh Nos, Burpees, Bobby Hurleys, BBS, merkins, mountain climbers, and The Promise of lots and lots of curls was kept.
COT, Maneater prayed us out.
SYITG,
AB
