PAX: America’s Best, Wet Tap, Safety Valve, Paradox, Fence Post

AO: The Lion’s Den

After attending a couple of beatdowns again with the Colorado Springs crew, it was time to share the love with the Thibodaux PAX. YHC’s previous experience with the COS PAX was in 10 degree weather in a monotonous (everything in cadence) but manageable 45 minutes. However, now that it was summer, those guys showed up to suffer. As did our PAX today, they just didn’t know it yet.

Warmarama:

The usuals, plus some fresh with dew from Pike’s Peak: sprinkler, Michael Phelps, Willie Mays, sun gods (2 sizes), star catchers.

The Thang:

Constant movement was the theme, based on the Q from my first day, DipShift. We went to the depot to grab coupons then returned to the front of the Municipal Auditorium and lined up on a sidewalk. Generally, one exercise was performed, followed by a lunge walk to the next sidewalk and back, followed by a second exercise. Then a run around the Civic Center. This whole format was repeated until the 45 minutes was up.

Exercises with 20-25 reps each included: offset coupon pushups 2:1, thrusters, overhead press, tempo squats, bonnie blairs, apollo ohnos, WWIII sit ups, manmakers

At some point during all this, I remembered something that one of the Q’s (Lt Dan) seemed to enjoy, the Leeroy Jenkins. We had to sprint up some stairs and do 50 monkey humpers each time. So today I asked if anyone had heard of the thing where when you say this name you have to sprint somewhere. Paradox, unable to control himself because he knew the answer, said “Leeroy Jenkins” and YHC immediately sprinted to the playground area. Fortunately the other PAX followed, and we did 50 monkey humpers before moseying back.

A good time was had by all, though AB said something about wanting to go back to Montana. Safety Valve had his usual frozen stare and ice cream running through his veins the whole time. Wet Tap’s whoop yawned. Paradox comforted himself by talking, while Fence Post provided a listening ear.

Post also prayed us out.

Hoping the star catchers catch on.

SYITG,
Honeysuckle
