YHC had an idea. A crazy Idea. They say there is a fine line between crazy and genius. This was nowhere close to that line.

But
First things first:
YHC was in the midst of a Soul Coughing revival, so decided to bookend the beatdown with some work and their music:

Circles
The PAX bear crawls in a circle while “Circles” plays. On every “circle” everyone does a merkin. YHC added that if anyone could identify this band, we can stop. Popeye immediately ID’d the band, and so of course I immediately amended my sentence that we could stop … 30 seconds early.

Now for the main event:
7s, with a very easy exercise on both sides (SSH and imperial walkers)
And this is where the crazy (stupid?) idea comes in. I had actually been planning this MOT since I first ran across Foxholes in the Exicon. I thought that although it wasn’t intended to be an MOT, it would probably be a good one. Because it would be a ridiculous thing to do.
I was right. And it was even worse because the grass was sooooo wet. In fact, after the PAX had completed one round, looking and feeling like we’d all been rolling in the deep, I amended the beatdown. Round two would be lunge walking, and round 3 bear crawling before going back to Fox holes again.
This part actually sucked so much I have nothing more to say about it. Except that Goose seemed to like it.
But we all finished it and were ready for

The thing before the fake final thing:

The PAX held Al Gore while Casiotone Nation played. On every number, we did a Bonnie Blair. On ”People’s republic” or “Casio tone,” a deep squat.

And there was much regret voiced for previous musical transgressions.

The fake final thing: what year was that song?
We reviewed the songs we heard while foxholing earlier, and individuals were called out to identify the year the song was from. Exercises were doled out based on year guessed vs actual year. Burpees unless the title and artist was also identified.

And since there was time for one more thing, and YHC had a backup plan for Casiotone Nation, we got to do it again.

The PAX held plank while Casiotone Nation played. On every number, we did a mountain climber. On ”People’s republic” or “Casio tone,” a merkin.

More complaining and apologies for prior poor music choices.

COT and wrapped it up. Thanks for playing.

SYITG,
AB

Epilogue:

Wyatt Meat: What makes a man like AB, Dox? What makes him do the things he does?
Paradox Holliday: A man like AB has got a great big hole, right in the middle of him. He can never Q enough, or snark enough, or inflict enough pain to ever fill it.
Wyatt Meat: What does he need?
Paradox Holliday: Revenge.
Wyatt Meat: For what?
Paradox Holliday: Nickleback.
