Pax of Honor – 1/6/2026

PAX: America’s Best, Safety Valve, Paradox, Wet Tap, Goose, Pope, Popeye, Honeysuckle, America’s Best

AO: Tuesday Tuff

By: Honeysuckle

Today eight (8) total PAX including YHC converged for Tuesday Tuff in the hopes of trivia and no running. However as we will learn, there is never no competition.

Warmarama:

SSH w/o an eye doctor (AB this time), imperial walkers, wind meals, willie mays hayes, tie fighters f/r, star catchers, Michael phelps (a great guy)

The Thang:

As stated at the beatdown, we were to combine the PAX’s greatest strength (trivia) with the PAX’s greatest weakness (the honor system).

Teams of two were formed and the format was simple: YHC would announce an exercise with two possible rep counts and read a trivia question. Teams were a few seconds to come up with an answer. Then YHC would state the correct answer. If a team got the answer wrong, they would do the higher rep count. If a team got the answer right, they would do the lower rep count. This entire process of answering the question, determining right or wrong, and doing the exercise was completely self-contained within each team.

The flaw in this construct soon became evident. Was there to be no praise or recognition for correct answers? No accolades or atta-boys? No laughing at those teams getting wrong answers? No feeling superior to them despite presenting a humble and gracious exterior? YHC might as well have not allowed the PAX to breathe.

To add insult to injury, the rep counts weren’t that different, so it typically wasn’t obvious who got it wrong. There were hints, allegations, and innuendos but nothing concrete to go on. As Goose would later observe, the difference between a full-way bear crawl and a half-way bear crawl would have been the clearest … but interestingly everyone only ever did the half-way version.

Eventually Goose could not take it any more. After one question, upon seeing Paradox and Safety Valve taking a little longer to complete their reps than everyone else, the words repeatedly escaped from his mouth: “Did you get it wrong?” Dox and Valve ignored the line of questioning for a while, but eventually, upon being notified that it was in fact Goose’s mom that got the question wrong, that he received confirmation.

We made it through 18 questions, and all of the teams got at least 19 correct answers.

Popeye prayed us out.

Yankee Joe will have to get us right again on Thursday.
