Red Pill or Blue Pill
F3 Thibodaux has had its share of intense beatdowns. Every PAX has a top 10 that caused permanent damage to one’s psyche. Hardest Mile, Diddle Death March, Pyramid scheme, etc… YHC’s goal- to establish a algorithmic frequency of these so called “tough” beatdowns. Alas the inaugural BlackDiamond has been initiated.
The eve prior to this event, mother nature was pressing with the anticipation of torrential downpours and hail predictions. YHC made an alternate beatdown bringing us to the safety of the nearby football field for potential catastrophe. This also would keep your shoes nice and clean, a tactic used in the past to persuade some PAX.
Yet, early in the gloom, God parted the skies.
Warmarama:
Intro to F3 was explained to the FNG. About this time, YHC realized that the original plan may be possible. A quick weather check, and yes it could happen! Now what better way to change the script? I had promised a clean workout. Remember the clean shoes thing? Of course, blame the FNG.
The potential of the beatdown swap came down the simple answer to one of life’s most asked questions. Would you take the red pill or blue pill? The FNG chose the blue pill. We are in business.

The Thang:
After a short mosey to the playground, coupons in hand, the plan was laid out. Lil Cuz laughed, thinking the words out of my mouth were merely a ploy to get the FNG shook. Goose knew better, looking at me like the principle of your elementary school after your just punched the bully. He was disappointed, yet happy someone finally did it.
It went something like this:
Quarter mile loop to determine partners for DORA. 1st with last, 2nd with 12th, etc…
200 burpee pullups, partner runs the loop
400 merkins, partner lunge walk with cindy to the hill and crawls through the culvert (glory hole), lunge return
600 Goblet Squats, partner carries cindy to hill, BlockBear up and over hill and back.
Food for thought:
Burpee pullups are hard and eat up lots of time. Gracious Q dropped the pullup part after 100. Ive never seen the PAX so happy to do burpees.
Crawling through the culvert with a cindy was not that difficult and only left the PAX bloody. Explaining to the M how and why was much more difficult, especially the naming.
Blockbearing down hill is more difficult than one would imagine.
All in all, it was a win. Everyone was safely hurt, the FNG puked (although after the beatdown), and a new sense of what was possible was revealed.
With the FNG centerstage, naming commenced, and DaisyDuke was born. Welcome brother!
