YHC has dreamed about being a famous musical artist since I was a child, and the thought of thousands of fans singing my songs back to me has always seemed like the pinnacle of accomplishments. As most of you know I am not a world famous recording artist and I do not travel the world singing my music to massive amounts of fans….yet!

This is all about to change as I have concocted a genius plan that requires minimal effort and maximum catchiness. AI can be a wonderful thing with surprisingly low quality prompts and thus my music career is born!

“Lil’ Cuz drops hot new album” – Anonymous reviewer (not paid for endorsement)
“Skippin’ with ma Frands is the album of the summer” – French Horn, probably
“Lil’ Cuz is a wonderful son.” – Lil’ Cuz’s mom

The album drop party is set and the music ready to be released, only time will tell how long before the crowd is chanting my name and singing my songs back to me.

The Thang:

Typical warmups that included SSH, IW, WM

Song 1: Every one knows Goose does not care for Disney, but not everyone knows why. I aim to enlighten us all on the scandal that exists within that Florida Mouse’s Kingdom. It all starts with the Duck that wears no pants and for a Goose this is downright despicable.

“The Goose’s Grievance” (3:06) – finish warm-ups, (Tie Fighters front and back, Willie Mays Hayes, Hamstring stretch, and those awesome stretches Popeye always does on Mondays after a tough Saturday.)

Lap around Civic Center to display the first song in contention for F3 Thibodaux’s Theme. Courtesy of Paradox always pushing us to release DAT DAWG.

“Got that Dawg in Me” (3:56)

Song 2: This eye doctor knows how to party and everyone knows that “Arcade Fire is Real” and when I heard He drove all the way down to New Orleans just to hear them play at Jazzfest it requires a song to be written.

“America’s Best Funk Festival” (2:37) – SSH for duration, Burpee for every “Best”

Song 3: Popeye is not amused by much and if any emotion shows it always displays as a quaint smirk and what better way to encapsulate such a demeanor than through a Ska band. Horns never hid the pain better!

“Popeye’s Smirk” (3:18) – AMRAP 10 Shoulder Taps(2:1), 20 Jump Squats, 30 Gas Pumps

Lap around Civic Center

Song 4: The tenure is in question but the Doctorate is not. More importantly is the quietness of the Prius as he sneaks up on unsuspecting students and drops knowledge upon them with the likes of Einstein and Hawkins.

“Professor and His Prius” (2:56) – AMRAP 10 Merkins, 20 Squats, 30 LBCs

Lap around Civic Center

Song 5: This song is dedicated to all those we have lost along the way. They showed up for a time (or once – no judgment here, thanks Planet Fitness) and never came back. They fell hard, said “Bruh, I bit it” in the most down the bayou accent I’ve ever heard, and ran away with our hearts to their big boy jobs. We’ll miss all of you and here is us pouring one out for our fallen homies.

“Bruh, I Bit It” (2:48) – Imperial Walkers for Duration, Burpee for every “Bruh, I Bit It”

Song 6: This goes out to the hardest working eye surgeon in all of Thibodaux! He will fix your cataracts without even paying attention. He guards his emotions so that the patient doesn’t see him stressed because he cares too much. He is the type of guy you see with vomit on his sweater already and you say “That guy looks calm and ready.”

“Never Let em See You Smile” (3:11) – Plank for duration, Merkin for every “Never Let em See You Smile”

Lap Around Civic Center

Song 7: Our group’s cultural ambassador recently took a tour of Rome and has brought back stories of the East to all of us westerners. They are a little strange out there and their wine makes him choke without any sweet tea to wash it down. Home fits him a little better but he goes out exploring for the betterment of the group as he tells the tales only he can tell in order to bring a little culture to our little town of Thibodaux.

“Paradox Abroad” (2:49) – Mountain Climbers for Verse, Plank Jacks for Chorus

Song 8: It’s hard to poke fun at a 16 year old who is better than all of us in every way, but I tried. And what came out was a touching song about a young Pope who feels the pressure of living in his dad’s shoes, just as every son does. This song’s lyrics works on so many levels and honestly was my favorite of this album. I cannot say anything more than how often it feels as though our lives are just borrowed toys and we can feel the longing to be a son again. I don’t often feel grown up but yet I am required to do adult things. God sees through all of these struggles and insecurities while lifting me up and loving me as a cherished son.

“Just a Son to His Dad” (2:24) – Flutter Kicks for Verse, Penguins for Chorus

I will never be world traveling musician, but I do know now how easy it is to cheat this endeavor. I put in almost no effort into making this album and that is a pretty scary world we are moving into. The children today can coast through life using technology and not even worry how much they could be losing out on. This is what makes F3 such a gift to us and our families. Doing hard things especially in a group keeps us grounded and helps us to know there is something bigger than ourselves. This world is not supposed to be easy because we are not made for this world.

“You were not made for comfort, you were made for greatness” – Pope Benedict XVI

Thanks for Skipping with me today Friends!
