Side Straddle Hops were replaced by their weird one legged cousin, Up-Straddle Hops.
Indian Run around the Center.
I’ll give you one guess who shouted, “The song is a clue!”
“Jerry was a Race Car Driver” was not a clue, just an intro to the strange songs of the 90s.
YHC had been trying to put together some songs recently, and noticed pattern of odd songs that actually had airplay in the 90s.
First Thing:
“I come from the water” by the toadies
American hammers, and on every “I come from the water” do 2 crunchy frogs.
YHC decided to offer 30 seconds off if anyone could identify the band (knowing the only person who had a chance of knowing was out with a broken foot)
But this thing had a much higher suck content than anticipated, so I offered that the crunchy frogs were a clue to the name of the band. So when Maneater said Toad the Wet Sprocket, I declared it close enough to the Toadies.
Another Indian Run around the Civic Center, this time on the inner track (not all the way to the road). However, most of the PAX were too busy running too fast to realize that.
Next song:
Take the skinheads bowling. Imperial walkers. Burpee on every “bowling”
7s during musical break (She Don’t Use Jelly, Friends of P., Whoever You Are)
Broken bicycles on one end, flamingo merkins on the other.
MOT was one-legged bear crawls and one legged hop back, but the one legged bear crawl proved not as easy as Popeye made it look (out of necessity) at the BK Have it Your Way 500, so YHC graciously switched to regular bear crawls after 2 laps.
Next Song:
Dox’s “Battle of Lepanto” Beatdown on Tuesday inspired this one. The Ottomans made Constantinople into Istanbul years before their defeat at Lepanto, and centuries before being sold at Rooms to Go.
“Istanbul (not Constantinople) by They Might Be Giants. Hold plank. Shoulder taps on every Istanbul. Merkin on every Constantinople.
And then last song (time to get real weird):
“Detachable Penis” by King Missile.
Hold Al Gore. Bobby Hurley anytime you hear something that makes you uncomfortable. There were, understandably, many Bobby Hurleys.
Had enough time for some Mary during “Winonas Big Brown Beaver.”
COT and Wet Tap prayed us out.
SYITG,
