Suckleversary 3: Fun is Overrated – 7/4/2026

PAX: Chum, Maneater, Jackknife, America's Best, Paradox, Safety Valve, Honeysuckle

AO: The Peltch

YHC arrived early to the Peltch the day after a torrential rain to make sure some of the key areas weren’t obnoxiously wet, as the lower fields have been on more than one occasion the past couple of months.

Chum arrived next, followed by Maneater/Jackknife and some Hot Honey. Unfortunately, no one else brought YHC a manniversary gift, except for a peck of peaches from Valve, but they were not given until after the beatdown so YHC didn’t know to not be angry with him the whole time.

Standard warmarama, followed by the litany of core exercises from 3 weeks prior. It was shaping up to be a walk in the park.

Pax grabbed coupons and moseyed to the seldom used area near the entrance of the Peltch, between the line of trees and Bayou Ln. Paradox had already started early and often with the 250 branding, licensed last week by Popeye, so the legality of YHC using 250 was questionable. Truth be told, YHC had no real explanation or wise words as to why the next thang was happening, but upon reflecting throughout the prior week, a tough, grinding workout seemed appropriate. And, as YHC said, “it’s my manniversary so I am doing what I want to.”

As Goose and Pope read this, some bad memories may arise of a Saturday a couple years ago when YHC last called this exercise. Starting from the first tree, 10 thrusters, PAX run to the second tree, 10 merkins, run back to the first tree, 10 thrusters, run to the third tree, 10 merkins, run back to the first tree, and so on.

YHC was asked “when do we stop?”, and the only response was “at 7:30”. (Legend has it the PAX are still looking for the 7:30 tree.) The truth is, at that point only YHC was able to comprehend what was ahead of us, and to entertain the concept of finishing meant that you’d likely need a few 30-minute mental health blocks at Family Doctor Clinic.

The Pax diligently attacked this thang and made it to the point where the running out-and-back portion reached over 1/2 mile. As the PAX made snide comments they hoped YHC would barely hear (“Remember when Saturdays used to be fun?”), eventually the 7:15 tree was found and we recovered.

Unfortunately, we then brought our coupons to the area near the monkey bars. Yes, it’s time again for Isometric EMOM. The choices were to hang from the monkey bars, do an elbow plank, or do a coupon rifle hold for a minute. For the first few minutes, PAX paired up so that only half of the PAX needed to be active at a time to help recovery. Then we went to everyone has to do something each time. This went on for about 10 minutes and we moseyed to the flag. We were about at time now, but in a nod to YHC’s first beatdown, we held six inches during the first verse of Ray Charles’ America.

Number off, name off, 30A went from Maneater to Paradox, Safety Valve prayed us out.

YHC has enjoyed many blessings and friendships over the past three years since joining F3. Thank you to all PAX who have been a part of it, whether you are a regular or you only went to one beatdown, you have had an effect.

SYITG,
Honeysuckle
