I’m all out of really long rocks …but here’s a milestone.

Gecko turned ten a few days back and after some back and forth on wake up times and availability of donuts he agreed to crafting a bday beatdown.

This would follow some previous 2.0 bday formats and be a potpourri of his favorite things.

8 pax strong to enjoy the festivities and it was good to catch a wild brass monkey in the mix. TeraVanilli continues an onslaught of headbands mixing vibes of prison mike with the lesser quantity millivanilli. We got nice and warm and silently judged the men’s running groups just like Goose taught us.

The first thang

P1 hang on pull up bars doing knee raises while p2 ran around dome.

Gecko really likes to hang on stuff. That’s it.

This was also shockingly difficult to maintain for greater than 20-30 seconds.

Another gecko fave that gets the outdoor sprinkler party vibes just right.

Now YHC knows we have played this song several times and was almost sure that Maneater himself named all the islands solo last time. So when YHC asked for pax to name all the fictional/nonfictional islands I was expecting this to be a soft toss. The heat clearly got to us on this day and guesses varied from “there were islands in the song?” To “can we just do iron pax early”. AB’s head nearly exploded when no one could say Aruba and Nilli heat stroked into naming 70s supergroups so we moved on.

Last of the musical trio was an AI produced “Gecko” song with all types of reptiles. It was a whimsical tune and the Al Gore/Jump squat combo had us hopping. Brass Monkey expanded his AI horizons learning about Sunos and we’ll be sure to have an album about a crawfish running a fax machine any day now.

*Nobody really knows if Valve thought worms were reptiles but look it’s Thibodaux, we have to cut some healthcare corners.

Lastly YhC wanted to honor the actual gecko so we did an Indian run with drop off Apollo Ohno as “tail sweeps”. Nilli and Maneater both dropped tails and from the climate but showed up reattached at our destination

Gecko Ball

We took advantage of the newly minted and slightly scratchy turf ball field for some close contact soccer with a twist. Every few minutes we would transitioning “Gecko Mode” into a bear crawl and be able to throw it in or pass the ball in on your knees. The real kicker was that AB brought the Zoolander mini Goals that are slightly smaller than the soccer ball itself. ironically there are no actual ants on the turf to use these, we persevered and it actually fit the small field format.

Good cardio all around and I think team AB took the W 2-1. Brass monkey and SV showed off some previous history with Futbol and YHC just mumbled stuff about strapping on the pads for a real man’s game.

We moseyed back quite short of breath and Maneater prayed us out.
