PAX: Honeysuckle, TeraVanilli, Paradox, Safety Valve, America’s Best
AO: The Lion’s Den, 10/23/2025
By: America’s Best
Since I had a few ideas in the hopper, YHC decided to go ahead and pick up the Q for Goose. But first, I thought I’d see if there happened to be any significance to the date of the beatdown.
Turns out there was. This was a special day for a lot of nerds. Apparently 10/23 is Mole Day, because Avogadro’s number is 6.022×10 to the 23.
So the High Dork Holiday begins at 6:02 AM and ends at 6:02 PM on 10/23.
And why, you ask, is it 10/23 at 6:02 in the morning and not 6/22 at 10:23? I’m sure any number of geeks, dweebs, or nerds could tell you. It’s possible even a spaz might know. But I have no idea.
Following a warmarama of 6- and 23-count reps (leading to helpless cries of “what does it mean?”) we took a mosey around the Civic Center and were ready for …
The First Thang:
Because we are celebrating a magic number today, we will also celebrate another magic number.
We heard “3 is a Magic Number” (covered by Blind Melon)
Did Imperial walkers, with a Burpee on every “3”
And then, another lap around the civic Center, ending at the tennis courts for …
The Next Thang:
Avogadro’s number is all about how many particles are in a mole of something. So:
We got to listen to “Particle Man” while holding plank, and doing a merkin on every “man.” With optional discussion of why triangle man has so much hate in his heart.
And Then:
Moley Trivia for Cocaine bears. As many guesses as you need, but we will stop at a line for a merkin for each wrong answer:
1. In what year (significant to our country) was Avogadro born?
2. In what country was Avogadro born?
3. In what city (with religious relic history)was Avogadro born?
4. T or F: the name Avogadro comes from the same root word as the fruit used to make guacamole (ahuacatl)
5. T or F: the name Avogadro comes from the same root word as Avocatto
After some wrong answers, there were some right answers.
Correct answers: 1776, Italy, Turin, F, T
(4 was false bc avocado the fruit is from the Nahuatl word ahuacatl, which also means testicle;
5 is true bc avocatto means barrister or attorney in Italian, Avogadro’s pops was a lawyer; YHC made sure it sounded phonetically identical)
Next thang: soccer tennis
Avogado’s law states that 2 equal volumes of gas (at equal temp and pressure)contain the same number of particles.
So the PAX split into two teams on opposite sides of a Pickleball court to kick a particle back-and-forth at equal temperature and pressure.
OK. This was just an excuse to play soccer tennis.
On every point scored, the scoring team does 2 side straddle hops, the unscoring team does a Burpee.
Losing team bear crawls the width of the courts, the winning team lunge walks.
In spite of TeraVanillis relentless snark, Team AmeriDox was able to take the first game, and after the assigned MOT, both teams ran to the playground for 10 pull ups. Honeysuckle embarrassed us all as he chose the most difficult bar and proceeded to knock them out like he was wearing a jet pack.
The second game got heated, as Dox found his best efforts were with the top of his head and the bottom of his feet.
Safety Valve, however, returned nearly every volley with the quiet confidence of a man who owns a Bluetooth coffee mug.
This seemed to incite Paradox to make sure one of his headers was unreturnable, as he crashed into/through the net.
If you’ve ever seen a video of a dolphin in a tuna net or a kangaroo careening into a fence, you may have some idea what this scene looked like. Obviously some pent up aggression there … something about unrequited education perhaps.
Cooler heads prevailed and Team HoneyVanillaValve took the win in the second game.
Rubber Match date TBD.
Back to the area where flags would have been for COT.
