THE MOLESKINE
Solid crew of 8 out at The Stage this morning for an absolute grinder of an Iron Pax prep.
The soundtrack was pure 80s nostalgia straight from my youth—there’s nothing quite like that 80s synth-and-bass groove to push through the burn. Though, by the time “The Final Countdown” kicked in, I think everyone was just praying for the beat to stop.
Pro-tip for the PAX: always pay attention to the Q. During warm-ups, instead of the standard cadence count (1-2-3-4), I flipped the script and hit them with a 3-2-1 count on the final rep. Brains were instantly scrambled, rhythm was broken, and the mumble chatter spiked right out of the gate.
Once the main AMRAP started, however, the usual mumble chatter vanished completely. Total silence except for heavy breathing and chalk scraping the pavement. Everyone had to lock in just to survive the reps.
The chatter has picked back up on the chat now that the dust has settled, with guys already posting that this morning’s beatdown is going to make Iron Pax feel like a breeze by comparison. Mission accomplished. Rest up, men. Thursday we go again.
Aye!
